SOLAR ARCS AND HALOS is an audiovisual work within THE RETROCAUSALITY EXPERIMENT, a 9-month-long conceptual art project and complex ritual, by artist ALEXANDRA MARINA.
This project is an exploration of the metaphysical interplay between past, present, and future. It is a playful experiment with time/space and the creative power of ritual and intentional artistic manifestation. It delves into the nature of agency and synchronicity, bridging the ethereal and the corporeal. This conceptual work intends to challenge our understanding of time, space and being, highlighting the fact that life and art continuously inspire and recreate each other in a generative synergy.
The ritual release is February 22, 2026, 2pm (EET and CST).

Alexandra Marina har Bachelor’s Degree inom Film- och TV-produktion (Novia, 2009) samt Bildkonst (Novia, 2023). Hon har haft flertalet separatutställningar, och deltagit i många grupputställningar. Just nu arbetar hon främst på Kroppshistoriskt Museum som ställs ut runtom i Finland sedan 2023.
Jag är en bildkonstnär som arbetat tvärkonstnärligt i över femton år. Jag har ett intersektionellt feministiskt perspektiv i min konst som kroniskt sjuk, delvis funktionsnedsatt, tjock, queer, och finlandssvensk kvinna, som dessutom ofta levt under fattigdomsgränsen. Detta är något jag använder, studerar och experimenterar med i min konst vars fokus ofta ligger på kropp inom olika kontexter; historia, samhälle, sjukvård och mellanmänskliga relationer.
Jag arbetar konceptuellt och använder flertalet medium för att skapa immersiva utställningshelheter och projekt som känns socialt väsentliga och kraftfulla. De senaste åren har mitt fokus varit på foto, video, dans, installationer och text. Jag är ofta väldigt intim i min konst och skapar en brutal samverkan mellan mitt personliga liv, min kropp, och min konst, men skapar också gråzoner av autofiktion och helt fiktiva narrativ för att skapa nya vinklar och ingångar till mina centrala teman.
Jag kallar mig själv dansare, och rör mig fritt mellan olika medium, för att både som objekt och subjekt förmedla historier, belysa samhälls- och maktstrukturer, och skapa förutsättningar för andra marginaliserade individer och kroppar att ta plats.
I am a visual artist who has worked multi-artistically for over fifteen years. I have an intersectional feminist perspective in my art as a chronically ill, partially disabled, fat, queer, and Fenno-Swedish woman, who has also often lived below the poverty line. This is something I use, study and experiment with in my art where the focus often is on the body within different contexts; history, society, healthcare and interpersonal relationships.
I work conceptually and use multiple mediums to create immersive exhibitions and projects that feel socially essential and powerful. In recent years, my focus has been on photography, video, dance, installations and text. I am often very intimate in my art and create a brutal interplay between my personal life, my body, and my art, but also use gray areas of autofiction and completely fictional narratives to create new angles and entrances to my central themes. I call myself a dancer, and I move freely between different mediums, in order both as object and subject to convey stories, illuminate social and power structures, and create conditions for other marginalized individuals and bodies to take their place.
Alexandra Marina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and TV production (Novia, 2009) and Visual Arts (Novia, 2023). She has had several solo exhibitions, and participated in many group exhibitions. Right now, she mainly works with Body History Museum, which is exhibiting around Finland since 2023.
